Olga Subiròs the curator of the semi-permanent exhibition celebrated at The Barcelona Design Museum, Matter Matters proposed that I dialogue through matter with an iconic piece from the museum. The kids’ chair Delta by Jordi Vilanova from 1964.
My starting point was to continue the “Dissident Matter” project, adding my research about cork in the Catalan territory. Both projects follow the question: Can design be a tool to help to regenerate the ecosystem? My thesis on both projects is that “we need to find new relationships between human, more than human and the ecosystem and question the current idea of progress in the global north through matter and form.
The result is a deconstructed chair, symbolically I dethrone the human to create a horizontal relationship with the territory, with the object and all the other beings.
